H Bauer Publishing Brings Ad Sales In-House

This morning, H Bauer Publishing (HBP) announces that it has ended its long running relationship with The Publishing Consultancy (TPC) in the UK.
HBP Media Sales which will be run as an internal division within the business will take charge of all of HBP's advertising sales. TPC's existing sales team will transfer to HBP as part of the move which will provide continuity of service and contact to media agencies.

New Publisher for Take a Break and Bella Magazines

Bauer, the largest privately owned publisher in Europe, announces some changes to the structure of its senior UK management team.
Andy Brooks currently Publishing Director for that's life! Spirit & Destiny and Fate & Fortune will become Publishing Director for market leader in the Women's Weeklies Market, Take a Break magazine. Andy takes over Take a Break from David Goodchild, Managing Director of Bauer, and will work alongside Editor John Dale to continue Take a Break's eighteen years of success.
Philippa Hamilton returns to Bauer to become Publishing Director for Bella, working with new Editor Julia Davis.

H. Bauer's TV Choice is the clear winner in the TV listings sector, posting an ABC figure of 1,404,950 weekly copy sales. This 14th consecutive ABC increase marks a 3.8% year-on-year and 0.9% period on period growth.
TV Choice is now the number one listings magazine and also the number one newsstand magazine in the UK.
This tremendous achievement is down to quality editorial, fully comprehensive and easy-to-use listings and a great price of 38p.

Take a Break's Puzzle titles buck the downward trend

Both of H Bauer's top-selling mixed puzzle magazines bucked the trend of the puzzles category and monthly magazines in general by recording significant increases in their 2007 ABC figure.

Take a Puzzle, the original prize puzzle magazine, achieved a 10.0% increase over the previous year to stand at 107, 264, whilst the traditional mixed puzzle title, Puzzle Selection rose by 7.5% to 93,434.

Heinrich Bauer Verlag KG today announces the completion of the purchase of Emap plc's Radio business for £422 million.
Following the receipt of German and Austrian competition clearance, the sale of Emap Consumer Media to Bauer is now unconditional and is expected to complete shortly.

Bauer Publishing Group’s Acquisition of Emap Receives Approval from Shareholders

With a large majority of 97.9 percent, shareholders of Emap have approved the sale of Emap's consumer magazines and radio divisions to Bauer publishing group. Julia Davis Named New Editor of Bella

H. Bauer publishing today announces the appointment of Julia Davis as the new Editor of Bella with immediate effect. David Goodchild, MD of H. Bauer, said "we are delighted that Julia is joining Bella and are extremely excited about the ideas and experience that she will bring to the magazine."

Julia was previously Deputy Editor of OK! Magazine and has most recently been working at Emap and Hachette Filipacchi on title development.

 

H Bauer Publishing Launches National TV Campaign for Take a Break

H Bauer, is backing Take a Break magazine with a national TV campaign which starts January 2nd2008 and runs for 2 weeks. The campaign which comprises 2 different ads, both 30 seconds, has been created by Mustoes, planned by Edward Groom Saunders and bought by Mediaedge CIA.The ads will appear in popular programme slots, including Coronation Street, Emmerdale and The Jeremy Kyle Show.
